Catching My Breath
So, I meant to update the general news item here on the front page at
least once a month, but as any of you who visit the website very
regularly have noted it’s been almost nine months since I’ve had the
time to post anything new.
It’s been an incredible year for all of us at Two-Bit Choppers. Lindsey
and I welcomed our second daughter, Adelynne Nicole Schillng, into the
world on January 9th. Mother and baby came through like champs and
little Adelynne already enjoys hanging out with me in the shop, or
helping Mom pack up parts. (If you find a pacifier in with your stuff
just consider it a gift from the littlest Two-Bit Hoodlum).
As a company, we hit the road in earnest, attending shows across the
United States. I traveled to Cincinnati, Ohio in February for the
Easyrider’s V-Twin Expo to display our new air cleaners. The reception
for our intake was excellent, and I got a chance to catch up with quite
a few old industry friends in the process. Special thanks goes out to
Street Chopper, Hot Bike, Ironworks, Thunderpress, and V-Twin Dealer
News, all of which have run mentions about the HiPo Billet Air Cleaners
in their new products sections.
We finished our new board track-inspired XB Buell bike in April and
showed it off at the Denver, Colorado and Kansas City, Missouri stops on
the Easyrider’s Centerfold tour. The attention this new bike received
extended on to Street Chopper Magazine and Editor Greg Friend who
assigned Denver-based freelance photographer Curt Lout to shoot the bike
a couple months back. Look for the full feature on our latest creation
in Street Chopper sometime before the end of the year.
The Tejon Street Bikefest in Colorado Springs wrapped up our June and we
made our first trip to the west coast to attend the L.A. Calendar
Motorcycle Show in mid-July. The L.A. show was a great experience and we
appreciated all the compliments we got on our work from some of the
biggest names in the industry. Congratulations goes out to Randy Hocker,
co-owner of Redhill Motorcycle Werx in Lyons, Colorado, for taking first
place in the Pro Builder category at this show with his Phatillac bike.
The bike is one of the cleanest in recent memory, and features a custom
collapsed air cleaner I made for him last winter.
September was busy as well with a one-two finish for us in the Custom
Sportster category at the Rat’s Show as part of the second annual
Thunder in the Rockies Rally over Labor Day Weekend just down the road
in Loveland, Colorado. Congratulations go out to customer Carlo Rosa for
edging me out for first place with the gothic skull bike we build for
him last year. You can see a picture of Carlo’s bike in the November
issue of Ironworks Magazine which just hit the newsstands.
Then it was on to Sin City, for the Las Vegas Bikefest for four days of
fun as we joined an estimated 50,000 other motorcycle enthusiasts for
the fifth annual event. The sound of 100’s of American V-Twins
thundering up and down the strip is something to behold and I highly
recommend this show next year if you’re looking for an amazing time in
mid-September.
We’ll be taking a bit of break from the show circuit now until
Thanksgiving weekend, when we again plan to attend the Ironworks
Motorcycle Showcase at the Rocky Mountain Rod and Custom Show. Check out
the upcoming events page for all the details. Keep an eye on the website
in coming months as well for the debut of an exciting new line of parts
from Two-Bit Choppers. It’s taken the hard work and collaboration of a
lot of our friends and fellow artisans to bring these new parts to life,
but I think the end result is truly the most unique new line of
accessories to come down the line in a very long time. Stay tuned!
Until then, and as always, thanks to all of you who have spent your hard
earned with us for new parts for your bike these last few months. I mean
it when I say that we truly appreciate the opportunity to earn your
business, and we’ll continue to strive to create high quality components
and provide some of the best customer service in the industry.
Now let’s get out and ride,

Boot that
old man out the door and spank the new baby - we got us a fresh year!!
I’d like to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of you who
helped make 2005 a great year here at Two-Bit Choppers. To all the new
friends we’ve made, it’s truly been our pleasure to help each and every
one of you toward the ride of your dreams, and we hope to hear from you
all again in the new year.
A lot has been going on around the Two-Bit Choppers shop as we enter the
new year. Obviously, we’ve been working on re-vamping and freshening up
the website some with new pictures of some of our recent builds, hot new
products like our HiPo Billet Air Cleaner line and our new Mutant
Builders Kits. We’ll also soon be adding online ordering for your
24-hour-a-day shopping pleasure.
We’re currently in development on two new fender strut designs, as well
as three new air cleaners, and keep an eye out for our new sprocket
covers designed to work on stock Sportster-style applications with an
integrated rear master cylinder mount.
We’ve got two new Two-Bit built Redneck Mutants cranking in the shop
right now. One for local hoodlum Arnold Martinez is set to shatter the
mold, and change your idea of what a Mutant is supposed to look like.
Pictures coming soon of this new trendsetter. We’ve also begun work on
our new XB Buell based shop project. This one I’m keeping top secret
until she makes here debut sometime in late February.
Congratulations to Two-Bit customer Carlo Rosa who took home top honors
in the Sportster category at the recent Rocky Mountain Rod and Custom
Show held at the National Western Complex in Denver over the long
Thanksgiving weekend. Carlo’s spooky skull-laden 2005 Two-Bit beat out
my own black hot-rod for the “Platinum” plaque and a 1-2 finish for
Two-Bit Choppers. Thanks to all those that stopped by our vendor booth
to talk bikes and check out our parts and apparel.
Spring 2006 promises to be a busy one, as we hit the road to Ohio, Texas
and Missouri for shows as well making the big home stand at the Denver
Easyrider’s Bike Show Tour stop at the Colorado Convention Center on
April 8th. Check out the event schedule page for more information and a
complete schedule of events.
On the home front, Lindsey and I are anxiously awaiting the arrival of
our second daughter any day now, so if a couple days go by without a
call back chances are we’re off bringing another member of the family
into the world. I’ll keep you posted.
Also if you haven’t gotten a chance check out the feature Keith “Bandit”
Ball did on Randy Carlson’s Two-Bit bike over on Bikernet. Click here to
read it –>

So thanks again for another great year and we look forward to plowing
into 2006 with our ears pinned back and the throttle pinned to the stop.
Now get out and ride,
